Pay Transparency Directive national transposition deadline

Member States must adopt and publish transposition measures by 7 June 2026. The Directive requires employers to provide pay information before employment, prohibits pay secrecy clauses, mandates pay gap reporting for employers with ≥100 workers, and obliges joint pay assessments where unexplained gender pay gaps exceed 5%.

Applies to: Member States (transposition); employers — pay information obligations apply to all sizes; reporting obligations phased by employer size (≥250 from 2027, ≥150 from 2031, ≥100 from 2031)

Penalty: Member State penalties must be effective, proportionate, and dissuasive

Employers with 250 or more employees must submit their first annual gender pay gap report under the Directive by June 2027, covering data from the preceding calendar year. Reports must be submitted to designated national authorities and published publicly.
